Suzaku Satellite
Suzaku satellite reveals the average chemical composition of our Universe on the largest scales to be the same as that of our Sun.
Aurora Simionescu of Japan's Institute of Space and Astronautical Science and her collaborators have used x-ray spectroscopy to determine the elemental abundances of the intergalactic plasma that pervades the Virgo cluster of galaxies. Their findings suggest that the average chemical composition of our Universe on the largest scales is about the same as the Sun's.
